After my youngest son was born, I needed to work part-time while homeschooling my older boys. I freelanced a bit for The Osceola Sun in Wisconsin, but I also wanted time out of the house with adults. I found the almost perfect position at the Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway, working Saturdays, Sundays and special occasions May through October. It was exhausting on top of full-time parenting and homeschooling, but so much fun working with volunteers and the public. As a bonus, I was allowed the freedom to use my creativity for advertising and marketing. I wrote an article about the railway for a local magazine.
